Grants & Projects – ScotSpirit
The Grants & Projects team have been working hard processing applications and have now offered all of the caravan breaks away for the year (May was a record-breaking month in terms of applications received!)
However, we have projects happening throughout the summer including 650 family tickets for National Trust places up for grabs as well as the ScotSpirit project which is about to launch for this year.
The ScotSpirit project came about in 2016 thanks to a partnership with VisitScotland who secured donated accommodation, travel and tickets to attractions through the generosity of Scottish tourism industry providers as part of their international marketing campaign, Spirit of Scotland, launched in 2016 by Scottish First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon. Last year we were able to help 254 families with short breaks and day trips across Scotland and hope to reach even more this year.
In May, following a debate in the Scottish Parliament on inclusive tourism (accessible and social) John McDonald and John Kinnear met with Cabinet Secretary for Tourism Fiona Hyslop. Fiona is very supportive of the work we are doing in Scotland and we even got her involved in Shades Day!
