Your support is just the ticket for struggling families
A new year offers new hope for families in terrible circumstances. With your help, we can enable more people than ever to go on a much-needed break in 2016.
We’re not all going on a summer holiday
When winter bites and the dark days are seemingly endless, thoughts of a summer getaway can help us to stay positive, motivated and happy. But imagine having no break to look forward to, with no chance to escape the pain of long-term illness, the fear of abuse or the heartache of bereavement.
Each year 1.46 million families in the UK – that’s 4.74 million people – are unable to access a simple day out together. Many are affected by problems such as severe and long-term illness, bereavement, mental health issues, disability or domestic violence, and sadly it is these families who would most benefit from a day or two away from home.
We believe a break is a lifeline, not a luxury
The Family Holiday Association is the only national charity dedicated to providing seaside breaks and day trips for families struggling with some of the toughest challenges life can bring. These families are referred to us by professionals in the community such as teachers and social workers.
Our charity was founded on the belief that holidays are a lifeline, not a luxury. Evidence shows that spending time together away from daily hardship can be life-changing for the families we work with.
Please help. Any donation you can make today will go towards helping disadvantaged children and their families to see the seaside, build a sandcastle or perhaps travel by coach or train for the very first time.
Thank you for continuing to support the Family Holiday Association in 2016.
