The Family Holiday Association and CLIA UK & Ireland have partnered to bring hope and happiness to families facing life’s toughest challenges.
The Family Holiday Association provides seaside breaks and day trips for families struggling with some of the toughest challenges life can bring – problems such as severe and long-term illness, mental health issues, bereavement and domestic violence.
Just one day away from these terrible circumstances can make a world of difference. It can give a family a new sense of hope and normality, plus the opportunity to create precious memories to draw on when times are tough. For children especially, a simple trip to the seaside offers the chance to paddle in the sea, build a sandcastle or fly a kite for the first time. Read about Sophie’s story here.
Recognising what a difference CLIA can make, they are delighted to work with members and supporters to raise enough funds to enable the charity to send 250 families on a precious day out at the British seaside or local tourist attraction.
Andy Harmer, Director of CLIA UK & Ireland says:
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with the Family Holiday Association, with the goal of providing some incredible memories for struggling families up and down the UK. We are calling on all of our wonderful agent members and travel industry partners to donate to this truly deserving cause.”
Angie Watson, Head of Fundraising and Comms at the Family Holiday Association comments:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with CLIA; we share an understanding of the importance and value of breaks away from home and the positive and long-lasting impact they have on families’ lives. We are excited to work together over the coming year and spread a little sunshine to those who need it most.”
It costs just £50 to send a family of four on a day out together. It’s a small price to pay for a day of respite for children and their families; for the chance to create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
