In 2017, the Family Holiday Association took the decision to invest in a new be-spoke cloud based booking system. Much like the best holiday booking platforms the system puts the referrer* in the driving seat, allowing them to view the breaks we have available that match the specific needs of a family they are working with. Behind the scenes, it gives the charity much greater flexibility and control. For the first time we can make good use of donated tickets and accommodation from a wide range of UK providers, allowing us to efficiently scale the number and type of breaks we offer.
We believe that everybody should have the opportunity to have a holiday each year. We also understand the benefits this provides and are committed to helping as many struggling families as possible. We believe that this technology will allow us to help thousands more families each year to access a much needed and often life changing break away from home.
*Each family we support is referred to us by someone already working with them in a supporting role. Our referral network includes teachers, health visitors, social workers and other charities such as Barnardo’s and Shelter. By working with referrers, we can be sure that the funds we raise help the families who will benefit most.
