Hello again! Well, April has whizzed by! I was bursting with excitement to start welcoming families to stay again whilst they enjoy the seaside – it’s what I do best after all!
The Holiday Park has been manic but a lot of fun! It’s been really busy over the Easter break with lots of families getting to enjoy some time away. Easter represents new life and fresh starts, which is celebrated by eating copious amounts of chocolate – of course! The weather was blooming marvellous a week or so ago! The sun really does put a pep in your step and gets me dreaming of the families who have come to stay.
The excitement of a break
The countdown to a holiday can really help to lift a family’s spirits, especially if they’re going through a difficult time. And it’s a lovely feeling, knowing that I can offer families a break that they so desperately need.
The warm weather has reminded me of a family, the Martin’s, who came to stay last summer. Circumstances at home made life difficult and they never got the chance to get away and spend time as a family.
Before they came to stay, the mum wasn’t feeling overly confident about travelling, so their lovely care worker helped them plan for the trip and arrange travel so the son could get excited about their holiday.
When the family arrived, I got to show off how much space I have and they LOVED staying in a caravan – I felt proud as punch! They loved everything about the trip and you could tell how important the time away was for Mum and her son, as they had time to properly talk to each other and bond again. They embraced being by the seaside and loved going on the pedalos and bikes together – Mum even talked about saving for bikes when they got home so they had an activity they could do together.
The lovely lady who referred the family for a break got in touch to tell me how much better the family get on after the break. She said:
“Wow such a difference this holiday has made to the family. Mum is more relaxed and talks nonstop about the holiday and the differences it has made to her and her son.”
I feel so lucky to be able to help families like the Martins and I’m so thankful for your support to continue making this happen. I’m super excited for the summer sunshine to truly kick in and to start welcoming more families in the coming months.
Right, that’s all from. Until next time…
