Senior Trusts and Grants Fundraising Officer, PART TIME

The Fundraising Team are responsible for generating all the Family Holiday Association’s income. This is obtained through businesses and their employees, trusts and foundations, wealthy individuals and fundraising events.

Working as part of a small Fundraising Team and managing your own portfolio, you will play a key role in supporting the development of income from Trusts, Foundations and other grant-making organisations. You will be responsible for working with project staff to develop tailored and persuasive applications, communicating our work to cold and warm prospects and contributing to our annual income target.

To succeed in this role, the post holder should demonstrate excellent written and communication skills and ideally be responsive, creative and thorough. You will be skilled at writing compelling proposals and reports, managing budgets, working to deadlines and communicating effectively with colleagues, grant makers and senior organisational staff.

CEO comment: We are expanding our grant bid writing fundraising team by an extra 3-4 days a week, pending on the flexibility and aspirations of the successful applicant. Main duties

  • Helping to grow the charity’s income from trusts and foundations
  • Undertaking detailed prospect research and identifying the most appropriate funding and fundraising opportunities
  • Manage and co-ordinate the on-going relationships with funders and grant makers for current projects of work ensuring all reporting requirements are met on time.
  • Submit relevant monitoring and evaluation reports required by funders, ensuring high standards are consistently met.
  • Prepare budgets to support fundraising applications
  • Developing a funding pipeline of charitable trusts and foundations to support the Family Holiday Association’s programmes and activities
  • Initiating and building relationships with new and existing grant making trusts and foundations via telephone, email and in person
  • Maintaining a calendar of opportunities for grant submissions to trusts and foundations
  • Work closely with colleagues across departments to acquire suitable case studies/projects for funding bids and updates for existing funders

Essential Requirements

  • To be a leading professional in the area of charitable giving, particularly in relation to Trusts bid writing
  • Excellent written skills to be able to create persuasive and effective written proposals
  • Good numerical and financial skills to be able to compile, interpret and describe budgets
  • Experience of researching and identifying new Trusts and larger funding opportunities
  • Proven record of successful applications to major Trusts
  • Experience of managing the reporting requirements to major Trusts and Foundations
  • Experience of managing own workload and delivering to deadlines

Based in London

Salary: £28,000-34,500 per annum, pro rata, dependent on experience.

Hours: 21 – 28 hours a week (flexible days and hours), 12-month contract with the potential to extend. We are open to exploring flexible working opportunities and appreciate the needs of family life. Working some days from home may also be possible after the initial probation period.
