Last week, we visited Canvas Holidays at their head office in Dunfermline, to formally thank them for raising £100,000 over the past 10 years.

Since the partnership between Canvas Holidays and the Family Holiday Association began back in 2009, the incredible funds raised have helped around 450 families struggling with terrible circumstances, to have a much-needed short break at the seaside, or local day out.

Canvas Holidays would like to say a huge thank you to all their customers who have generously donated to the charity over the past ten years. The funds have been raised solely through customer donations at the point of booking a Canvas Holiday and staff fundraising activities, both on Canvas campsites throughout Europe and at the company’s Head Office in Dunfermline.

The short breaks offered by the charity enable individual families to spend a few nights in a caravan at a holiday park at the British seaside. The charity was delighted in 2013 when Canvas purchased a caravan on the Craig Tara Haven site in Ayr, to enable families to experience a vital break.

John Kinnear, Head of Programmes at the charity said:
“Just a few days away can help families reconnect, strengthen bonds and sow the seeds for a brighter future together. Thanks to Canvas Holidays, an amazing 450 British families have experienced a seaside break, and we are delighted to have their support!”

Michael Thompson, International Call Centre Manager at Canvas Holidays said:
“We are so happy to have been able to help these families over the past ten years and we’d like to thank all our staff and customers for supporting the Family Holiday Association and the invaluable work they do. We look forward to continuing to work with the Family Holiday Association in the future.”

We currently have four cyclists (two Canvas Holiday reps) travelling in an epic bike journey from Venice to Naples to Benidorm to raise funds for the Family Holiday Association. They set off just over a month ago and have been facing the elements and the hills to help fundraise more money to help the charity.

Canvas Holidays have donated a £100 holiday voucher, so that people making a donation to support the cycling team will be entered into a prize draw. You can donate via the Just Giving page here.
