Everest base camp trek participants announced
The Family Holiday Association have joined forces with adventure travel company Exodus to offer two people the chance to take part in a once in a lifetime trip to Nepal, and at the same time raise vital funds to help struggling families in the UK and Nepal.
The two participants were picked from a list of applicants and the lucky pair to be embarking on this once in a lifetime trip are Heather Richardson and Matt Gill.
Heather and Matt will complete the iconic Himalayan trek to the famous base camp, at the foot of the highest mountain on Earth, Mount Everest. Walking through Sherpa country past cultivated fields and small villages, the pair will have time to acclimatise before reaching spectacular high altitude scenery: the incredible monastery at Thyangboche, views of Ama Dablam, Everest and other mighty Himalayan peaks.
This amazing trip takes places over 17 days from the 23rd September 2016 and Heather and Matt will also have the opportunity to climb Kala Pattar, which offers a breath taking view of Everest.
Heather and Matt will raise £3,000 each which will be split between the Family Holiday Association and the Exodus Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
Dan Jackson, UK Agency Sales Manager at Exodus, said: “We were delighted to be able to offer these places to the charity. It’s fantastic that Heather and Matt’s fundraising will benefit two such great causes and we look forward to welcoming them on this trip of a lifetime.”
