Family Holiday Association shortlisted for a Charity Times Award!

charity times awardsThe Family Holiday Association is excited to announce that it has been shortlisted for Fundraising Team of the Year in the Charity Times Awards 2017!

The entry is based around the 40th Anniversary celebrations which comprised targeted campaigns and fundraising activities to honour this remarkable milestone.

The concept of the campaign was for all of the initiatives to have their routes in the charity’s original, simple and instinctive premise – that breaks away from home bring hope and happiness to those most in need. We set ourselves the target of creating enough goodwill and raising sufficient funds to help 4,000 families in 2016.

Through carefully planned campaigns we exceeded our fundraising target enabling us to send a record 5,184 families away in 2016.

We created a 40th Anniversary visual identity, achieved something amazing with our colleagues in the travel and tourism industry by raising £250,000 through the 500 for 500 campaign and launched ‘A Million Smiles’ with our corporate partner TUI UK & Ireland raising over £1 million. We also launched our national day Shades Day, raised our profile in new areas through Seaside Walk Week and demonstrated the intrinsic value of time away for struggling families to a new audience.

Every member of the charity team played a crucial role in the success of the campaign; the finance and infrastructure team seamlessly managed the increase in funds and the delivery team worked tirelessly to provide breaks to a record number of families, enabling us to give hope and optimism to an enormous 55% more families than the previous year.

The Charity Times Awards continue to be the pre-eminent celebration of best practice in the UK charity and not-for-profit sector. Now in their 18th year, the awards are run by Charity Times Magazine – the leading title for UK non-profit professionals.

This year’s winners will be announced at the Charity Times Awards Gala Dinner & Ceremony on 4 October 2017 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London.
