Take on the 2.6 challenge
Be a home hero for the
Family Holiday Association
On Sunday 26 April, a country wide fundraising campaign is launching called The 2.6 Challenge.
Taking part is easy. All you need to do is to dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26. This could be something as simple as pledging to run or ride 2.6 miles as your daily exercise, holding the plank for 2.6 minutes, to doing 26 steps in a handstand or gardening for 26 minutes.
Need some more ideas? Virgin Money Giving have produced a 2.6 family activity pack which contains 26 fun ideas for brilliant families taking on The 2.6 Challenge including a print out finisher poster and games for the family.
There is also a whole host of ideas and celebrity videos on The 2.6 Challenge website.
Sunday 26 April should have been the day of the London Marathon, the biggest one-day fundraising event in the world. Last year, it raised nearly £67 million for charities and The 2.6 Challenge wants to do the same this April. That’s the equivalent of 2.6 million incredible people raising £26 (but why stop at £26 – we know we can all smash that).
The #TwoPointSixChallenge is your chance to be a Home Hero and raise funds from your very own living room, bedroom, balcony or garden! It’s open to anyone of any age – the only requirement is that the activity must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing. The main thing is to get active, have fun, pledge whatever you can to help or fundraise.
Tell you friends, share your achievements, have some fun!
Whatever you do, thank you for being a #TwoPointSixChallenge Home Hero.
