Tour de TUI – and more!
Your colleagues have held some fantastic events this month – from cycling to an Elvis Festival.
The Tour de TUI returned for another fabulous year on Sunday 11th September. The riders set out in glorious sunshine for their chosen bike ride length of 60, 25 or 10 miles around the Bedfordshire countryside. The fastest riders made it back in 3 hours, an impressive result, and all who took part were kept fuelled throughout the ride by volunteers at various points along the course, before being greeted with winner’s t-shirts and well-earned snacks on the return to Wigmore House.
A raffle also took place on the day and the winners were:
£1000 Holiday Voucher: Mi Lin Man
iPad Mini 4: Vince Rosato
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4: Sue Bradley
Amazon Fire HD8: Thomas Lawmon
Amazon Fire HD6: Naresh Heer
iPad Air 2: Naresh Heer
FitBits: Sam McMahon, Nadia de Wouters, Liz Caulfield and Lucille Fernandes
The Tour de TUI has raised an incredible £5,464 this year! We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the bike ride and all the volunteers who helped on the day, with a special thank you to Mike Hill and Sam Watling for organising the event again this year.
Meanwhile in Porthcawl, Wales, an Elvis festival is held annually, and the local store sold cakes at the event raising £125! The Elvis festival is the largest annual event of its kind, with most of the town shutting down and holding Elvis conferences and talent shows over the weekend – we are told it is a sight to behold!
