Explore the beautiful British coastline with us during Saturday 22 July – Sunday 30 July

Join us for the wonderful Seaside Walk Week this summer! Come and discover the wonders of the British seaside with us whilst walking along the great British coastline and celebrate the magic of family holidays by the sea. There are three fantastic events for you to choose from spread out across the country’s coastline.

Aside from uncovering the magic of the great British coastline, Seaside Walk Week also raises money to send struggling families on seaside breaks and gives children the chance to see the sea, build a sandcastle and create wonderful family memories that will last a lifetime.

Seaside Walk Week - Scarborough

We are kicking things off in the historic town of Scarborough, a natural choice as it lays claim to being the world’s very first seaside resort and still attracts thousands of visitors every year. Even better still, we are hugely excited for our event to be part of the Scarborough SEAFEST festival, a celebration of Scarborough’s maritime heritage with boat displays, food, music and a whole raft of other activities for you to enjoy.

The Scarborough walks will take place on Saturday 22 July and Sunday 23 July and will be led by our friends at Hidden Horizons who know all of the coast’s hidden secrets. They will take you on a journey to discover the Jurassic dinosaur footprints, rock-pools and various creatures found along the foreshore.

Starting from a central London location you will be given clues and questions that will trail you across the Thames and allow you to discover parts you never knew existed! Thanks to the British Guild of Tourist Guides you are sure to discover fascinating gems of London’s rich history. The quickest and most accurate team to make it to the finish will win our treasure!

It’s the perfect event if you work or live in London as it will take place after working hours on Wednesday 26 July and Thursday 27 July.

Seaside Wallk Week - North CornwallThe grand finale is definitely one not to be missed; we will be heading over to North Cornwall and the magnificent stretch of coast around Trevose Head where our friends at the award-winning Mother Ivey’s Bay Holiday Park are kindly hosting the walk. We have also teamed up with the National Trust who will guide the walk and explain all about the history, wildlife and habitats of this exceptionally beautiful area. After a scenic stroll around the headland soaking up the fresh sea breeze, what better way to finish the day than with a BBQ on the beach? Thanks to the wonderful Mother Ivey’s Bay Holiday Park, we are inviting you to do exactly that!

Make the most of the summer sun and join us on Sunday 30 July for this fantastic event.

Our thanks to Devon artist Betty Bettesworth who has kindly given us permission to use her stunning poster image to promote our North Cornwall walk.
