Other people’s gifts
Gifts in wills are helping us to reach more families than ever before.
For more than 40 years the Family Holiday Association has been working to give struggling families that much-needed break away from home. We would not have reached this point without generous donations from our supporters, who have helped us so far to:
-
own 14 caravans across the UK
- reach more families – including 6,612 children helped in 2018 alone
- raise awareness of the social benefits of family breaks
Not long ago, we were able to buy a caravan with the residual bequest of £45,000. With just this one gift, in the 8-year life span of this caravan, more than 300 families will enjoy a week-long break away from home.
With a gift of £5,000, 20 families were each able to go on their own three/four-night break in a caravan by the British seaside.
Recently we were able to help 25 families go on a group day trip, thanks to £1,000 we received from a gift in a Will.
John Carter – Why I’ll be leaving a gift in my will
Travel writer and TV presenter John Carter, says: “The Family Holiday Association is the only national charity specialising in providing holidays to disadvantaged families and their children, I support the charity because it provides a unique, much-needed service. Without the Family Holiday Association, hundreds of families would never be able to take the holiday they so desperately need and deserve.
“Leaving a legacy really is the gift of a lifetime, and it will make a difference. I want to ensure that my money and possessions go to my family, friends and the causes close to my heart, such as the Family Holiday Association.”
