Local fundraising groups

While the Family Holiday Association is the only national charity dedicated to helping struggling families get a break, there are many organisations who recognise the benefits of a holiday and family time spent away from home.

We are lucky enough to have local support groups and partner charities who each raise money to fund breaks for families in their area.

If you are involved in any other organisation that shares our values and would like to find out more about how we can work together, please get in touch by email at

North London Friends

The North London Friends of the Family Holiday Association was set up by charity founders Joan and Patrick Laurance when they stepped down from their full-time roles at the national office.

Activities include an annual Christmas Gift Fair and other fundraising initiatives.

Based in the Hampstead Garden Suburb area, the North London Friends are always grateful for volunteers who may wish to join in with fundraising activities. If you are interested, please contact Sarah Robson at or on 020 8883 0219.

Rotherham Holiday Aid

Rotherham Holiday Aid is a charity (Charity Commission number 1135052) that raises money for the Family Holiday Association, to be spent on families in this part of South Yorkshire. Whatever money we receive from the charity, we match it. In 2017, we doubled Rotherham Holiday Aid’s £13,000 to £26,000.

Sheffield Family Holiday Fund

This is a registered charity (Charity Commission number 505590) with similar values and objectives to the Family Holiday Association. Set up in 1976, the charity has always been an entirely voluntary body, with no paid employees and very few expenses claimed by trustees or management committee members.

In 2005, we began sharing resources to provide families in and around the South Yorkshire city with short breaks, and were delighted to receive £25,000 to this aim in 2016 alone.
