Family Holiday Association as the charity of the event

#TogetherTuesday

Working together when we’re the charity of the event…

Being the charity of the event is not only an impressive charitable event in itself, but it can also give us a wonderful introduction to the organisations who attend the event – who we may not otherwise have met!

Meeting organisations at events in this way can lead to creating inspiring partnerships together, just like those we hope to create within the coach industry, when we’re the charity of the event at the UK Coach Awards this May! See how we’re working together below…

Spotlight on UK Coach Awards

UK Coach Awards is a national awards scheme, now in it’s 11th year, specifically focused on coach operators and their staff in all types of work. The awards inspire the members, by recognising and rewarding the winners.

Following a review, the UK Coach Awards wanted to find a charity partner that would resonate with their existing partners in the Awards. After getting in touch with the charity, we found there is a real natural fit between both organisations.  And in working together, the coach industry have the ability to help the charity in a crucial area. By providing coach travel for short breaks and holidays for those in real need, and directly helping families.

Both the UK Coach Awards Team and the Family Holiday Association are excited about this partnership and the opportunities to come from it.

Steve Cresswell, UK Coach Awards Director said:

“We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have teamed up with the Family Holiday Association, a charity which has been providing a real lifeline for families in need, nationwide for 40 years.

There is a real natural fit with the coach industry, as well as donations of direct funding, this represents a real opportunity for coach operators to provide direct help to families. We are particularly pleased as this opportunity can be realised all year round and can be more than just a fundraiser at an annual event.”

Family Stories: SophieAngie Watson, Head of Fundraising and Comms at the Family Holiday Association said:

“We are thrilled to be working with the UK Coach Awards and their supporters. Together we can help so many more families trapped in terrible circumstances, to experience a much-needed break – whether through funds raised or help by donating coach travel.

A journey itself is a big part of the trip or day out for the families we help, and is so exciting for the children, most of whom have never had a chance to experience this. Between us, we can touch the hearts of so many children across the country in such a simple way. When families tell us about the best moments of their break, time and again they mention their enjoyment of the journey, and this is such a wonderful gift for UK coach Awards supporters to give!”

How supporters of the UK Coach Awards can get involved with the charity

We provide much-needed breaks and days out to offer respite to families trapped in terrible circumstances. And the wonderful UK Coach Awards will ask their supporters to help the charity, by doing the very thing they are brilliant at!

The UK Coach Awards are asking their coach operator supporters to donate tickets on their routes, as well as whole coach travel for group trips, in partnership with the charity. They’ll also be asking them to take part in fundraising activities, and to help spread the word about how they’ll be supporting the charity!
